Police have arrested a third suspect, who they say took part in the murder of a 65 year old Bronx, New York man. The victim was forced to drink cleaning fluid before his body was thrown on the roof of a near by McDonald's.
Two days after the victim, Richard Hamlet's body was found, cops arrested Ayame Stamoulis, 18, and hit her with list of charges, including murder. On July 20, cops arrested Jonathan Rodriguez, 21, charging him with murder and criminally negligent homicide. Lastly, Angel Andino, 22, was arrested August 13 for the July 15 murder, inside the victim’s apartment on E. 149th St. near Morris Ave. in Melrose.
Police describe the killing as a burglary that went horribly wrong. Stating, after forcing their way into Hamlet’s apartment, Andino and two accomplices beat and strangled him, then forced cleaning fluid and pills down his throat until he died. The suspects then wrapped Hamlet's body in plastic and hurled him from a window of the four-story building. Hamlet’s body landed on the roof of the McDonald’s next door, where a maintenance man found him just before 6 a.m.
Sources say that Andino was found laying low, in the Coney Island area of Brooklyn, where the NYPD’s Violent Felony Squad found him on the corner of Surf Ave. and Seabreeze Ave. and brought back to the Bronx, where he implicated himself in Hamlet’s murder.
Andino was charged with murder, burglary, robbery, gang assault and the concealment of a human corpse and was ordered held without bail.
