Texas man, Dewey Lee Whiteside, 17, found himself in the hospital after a botched robbery attempt last Friday. Whiteside was brutally beaten after entering an occupied home. Whiteside reportedly entered the home with another man when the male inside the home heard the commotion from his bedroom.
After opening the bedroom door, the male resident was met with Whiteside pointing a gun at him. At which point, the male wrestled the gun away from Whiteside, beat him, and pinned him down until police arrived.
Whiteside was charged with aggravated robbery, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana. Whiteside was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. While there, Whiteside told police that he and his friend needed the money and knew the man inside had money. Authorities also retrieved a small baggie of four Xanax pills and two baggies with marijuana.
