According to the American Heart Association, smoking marijuana isn't good for your heart.
People from all over the world consume marijuana for various different reasons, and in many different forms. However, according to the American Heart Association, there are risks for your lungs, heart and more body organs.
Rose Robertson, deputy chief science and medical officer for the AHA says, “The American Heart Association recommends that people not smoke or vape any substance, including cannabis products, because of the potential harm to the heart, lungs, and blood vessels.” The AHA followed up by adding to their journal saying, "the potential to interfere with prescribed medications,” and can also “trigger cardiovascular conditions or events” like strokes and heart attacks.
Clinical pharmacologist Robert Page II spoke on the statement, saying, “If people choose to use cannabis for its medicinal or recreational effects, the oral and topical forms, for which doses can be measured, may reduce some of the potential harms.”
