On March 13, 2020, Breonna Taylor was killed by Louisville Metro Police around 1 a.m. Officers executing a "no knock" warrant, stormed in her Breonna Taylor's home where she and her boyfriend was sleeping. Gunfire was being exchanged and Taylor, 26, was shot eight times and killed. Breonna was a loving Emergency Medical Technician.
As we've previously seen, Oprah has put Breonna Taylor's face on the cover of her "O" magazine. Which is quite monumental considering Oprah has been the only face of her magazine over the last twenty years.
Oprah has stepped it up a notch by purchasing 26 billboards in Kentucky. 26, representing the years Breonna has lived before her life was fatally taken. On the billboard, Oprah featured a phrase that was on the cover of her magazine as well, saying, “If you turn a blind eye to racism, you become an accomplice to it.”
As of now, the 2 of the officers involved in the raid were placed on administrative leave, while former detective Brett Hankison was fired.
