Report show that Donnell Russell, R. Kelly's manager called the NeueHouse theater in Manhattan, New York on Dec. 4, 2018, where the series "Surviving R. Kelly" was being held threatening to "shoot it up". He is now being charged in two counts with threatening physical harm by interstate and faces a maximum of five years in prison on each count if convicted.
Sources state, "Russell, according to authorities, tried legal means — such as sending a cease and desist order — before he allegedly called the theater and told an employee an armed individual would open fire if the screening was held."
U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss stated, "Threats of gun violence aimed at intimidating and silencing victims of sexual abuse are unlawful as well as unacceptable. We are committed to aggressively investigating and prosecuting such crimes."
