Previously, news surfaced that R. Kelly was attacked by another inmate at Chicago MCC. The incident reportedly found the inmate alleging that he was “forced” to beat R. Kelly in a letter. Along with that, Kelly’s lawyers say prison guards instigate the violent attack. Since then, Kelly’s lawyers filed a request for the singer to be released on bail, which was denied.
Documents that surfaced noted federal prosecutors denied the request for bail for Kelly because the incident was reportedly a one-time situation. The person in question who attacked Kelly—Jeremiah Farmer, has been moved to another facility in Michigan.
Along with that, federal prosecutors say R. Kelly is a threat to the public and is also a flight risk, so he should remain behind bars.
