Reports are showing that just one week after classes resume at University Of Alabama, over 500 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19.
Data shows that on the main campus in Tuscaloosa reportedly recorded 531 cases of coronavirus total, and the campuses in Huntsville and Birmingham reportedly recorded 35 cases in total.
The president of the University of Alabama, Stuart R. Bell, is asking that all students and staff working together to prevent the spread of the virus. “Completing the fall semester is together is our goal. The margin for error is shrinking.” says Bell.
Tuscaloosa Mayor, Walt Maddox issued an order for all bars in the city to close for two weeks as a result of the rise in COVID cases. As of now, the coronavirus rate is at 1.2%, with 566 positive cases according to the university dashboard.
