North Carolina's officials and state leaders have been cracking down on people and establishments including gas stations, vape shops and convenience stores that have been distributing what would appear to be candy, but is in fact THC (the main substance in Marijuana) infused snacks.
Secretary of State Elaine Marshall worked with multiple law enforcement agencies across the state. She said the snacks were brands kids can easily pick up and eat without knowing what is actually in them.
Law enforcement removed nearly $224,000 worth of THC infused gummies and snacks by counterfeited brands off store shelves.
The infused brands ranges from Skittles and Cheetos to Lifesavers and Girl Scout cookies.
