After years of going back and forth, Megan is finally getting the justice she needs.
Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion and record label 1501 Certified Entertainment have finally reached a settlement. After years of drama and social media intimidation, the label announced on Thursday October 19th that they have reached a settlement. The news came after Megan took to Instagram to announce her next project would be a self-released album.
According to Rolling Stone, the two parties have mutually reached a confidential settlement to resolve their legal differences. As part of the arrangement, both parties have agreed to amicably part ways. A source from the label said in a statement, “Both Megan and 1501 are pleased to put this matter behind them and move forward with the next chapter of their respective businesses. All of us at 1501 wish Megan the very best in her life and career.” Information regarding the settlement is not yet released to the public.
Retired MLB All-Star player Carl Crawford, who is the founder of 1501 signed the rapper back in 2018. The label also includes artist like Erica Banks, Baby Joker, and D-Raww. The feud between Megan and Carl began in 2020 when Megan filed a restraining order from the label. The restraining order was due to Carl and music industry fixture J. Prince attempting to intimidate Megan on social media. The two leaked an old mugshot of Megan that was taken back in 2015 for an arrest. The label denied any involvement in these allegations as well as Megan claiming that the label threatened to not to release her music.
Now that the issue is resolved, Megan took to her Instagram to let her fans know what was on the way for her. “This part of my album is very much funded by Megan Thee Stallion because we are trying to get off… Ya’ll knows what’s the tea. But I have no label right now. We are doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion’s pockets. The budget is coming from me. Mother*@king
Hot Girl Productions! The next s&*t y’all about to see is all straight from Megan Thee Stallion’s brain, Megan The Stallion’s wallet. We in my pockets, hotties, so let’s do our big one.”
After the last few years Megan has had, it is great to see her take so many wins.
