Ben Fancher was arrested and charged on Tuesday after he allegedly beat a woman that he met on the dating app, Hinge.
Brittany Correri said she met Fancher in Atlanta last week after matching with him on the dating app. According to Correri, the date was going well early on.
"I felt that we connected. He made me comfortable," Correri told Atlanta's WASB-TV. "Super nice guy. Very nice. We were laughing throughout the whole night. Just having a great time."
However, Correri claimed Fancher became enraged that she danced with two Black women while they were at a nightclub. She added that Fancher called her the N-word and said she "picked the wrong White boy" as he began physically assaulting her and eventually pulling a gun on her.
"He started beating me in my head, punching me everywhere - my forehead, my temples, my cheeks, jaws, throat, my arms, my back," she said. "He was just telling me that the date cost too much, that I'm not worth that."
Correri said the assault stopped when a female security guard spotted the violence and started taking pictures of the incident while it was happening. Correri later shared her experience and photos of her injuries on Instagram.
Police captured Fancher on Tuesday and charged him with kidnapping, false imprisonment, and aggravated assault. Hinge responded to Correri's story and said they would cooperate with law enforcement.
"The violence she describes is horrible and is something no one should ever have to experience," the company said. "Our moderators reviewed this report and immediately removed and banned the individual from our community."
