Judge Denies Tory Lanez's Request to Speak About Megan Thee Stallion Case

Tory Lanez's request for permission to speak publicly about the widely publicized Megan Thee Stallion assault case was denied by a judge on Thursday.

In January, Lanez requested permission to speak on the case and argued that it was unfair that Meg Thee Stallion was able to address the case on social media while he was barred from doing so. The order also prohibits the music artist from contacting Megan on social media.

"I think in a perfect world, no one would be able to say anything," said Tory Lanez's lawyer, Shawn Holley. "My goal is to be fair."

The judge ultimately ruled against Lanez's argument and made no adjustments to Megan Thee Stallion's ability to speak on the case.

"We have two high-profile celebrities named as the defendant and the alleged victim in this case," the judge said before warning that no one wants social media to become part of the evidence in the case.

After Thursday's hearing, Holley said, "We are simply seeking a fair proceeding, which is difficult when Ms. Peterson and her lawyer are able to speak about the evidence in the case, yet we are unable to refute their public statements because of the protective order."

If convicted for the alleged assault, Tory Lanez faces a potential maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months.
