Interviewing someone on air can be a little nerve wrecking. However, remember to do your research, listen and take notes. Below you'll find a few pointers!
DO YOUR HOMEWORK! No one likes the feeling of not knowing something when you should.
Do not talk about yourself! Comparisons are okay, but this isn't about you.
Never allow DEAD AIR. Try not to have silence between discussions, it can cause the audience to lose interest and now you're out of supporters.
Think like your audience! Find respectful ways to ask the questions that everyone is dying to get the answers to.
Have a steady flow. Remain UPBEAT and fluent.
Express passion. Listeners can tell if you love what you're doing by the tone of your voice! Aura is everything.
Refrain from saying "Umm". You know what you want to say, take your time to say it.
Remain on schedule. You never want to be on one topic but for so long.
It's okay to be controversial, just have your facts to back up your personal opinion.
