Freshman 2020 XXL Is Here

Despite this year being as hectic as it is, it hasn't stopped artists from dropping hits and showing off their talents and creativity.

Earlier today, XXL released their Freshman 2020 cover. XXL says that Covid-19 almost prevented them to be able to put together this year's freshman class. Although the pandemic didn't stop them from releasing the freshman class, it has caused them to release it two months later than usual which has had many people in question.

They weren't late due to the pandemic, however, they were late because there's been so much talented being displayed, not only that, their first pick for the freshman class was Brooklyn Rapper Pop Smoke who unfortunately was murdered earlier this year in California. So of course some rearranging had to be done. Although Pop Smoke couldn't be on the cover, XXL had the opportunity to meet with him a month before his death, where he happily accepted his number one spot in the freshman class of 2020. The issue also features an unreleased interview from January between Pop Smoke and XXL where he talked about his Brooklyn's drill music and his music career.

The freshman class 2020 includes artists such as New York's rappers, Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign, Las Vegas' Baby Keem, Chicago's Polo G and Calboy, Atlanta's Lil Keed and Mulatto, Memphis' NLE Choppa, St Petersburg Florida's Rod Wave, Montgomery Alabama's Chika, San Francisco' 24KGoldn, and Louisville Kentucky's Jack Harlow.
