Floyd Mayweather Reportedly Tried to Sanction Deceased Ex in $20M Legal Battle

Lawyers for the Josie Harris—ex-girlfriend and mother of Floyd Mayweather’s children, are calling out Mayweather for reportedly sanctioning Harris after she passed away in the ongoing $20 million legal battle that has been taking place.

Harris passed away earlier this year from an accidental drug overdose, according to reports. Harris was in the middle of her legal issues with Mayweather, and the trial for the alleged domestic violence incident that went down between them was set to take place on December 7, 2020. However, the lawsuit was put on hold until a person was put in charge of Harris’ estate.

Documents filed by Harris’ lawyer says Mayweather’s motion that seeks sanctions was “malicious and inappropriate.” Along with that, the documents said, “Plaintiff Josie Harris died on March 10, 2020. Aware of this fact, knowing that the status of Harris’s estate was unresolved, and in light of the obvious—that Harris could provide no further responses to any discovery requests—Defendant Mayweather still chose to file this (inappropriately consolidated) motion.” Harris’ lawyers went on to say Harris’ kids are not looking to continue the lawsuit against Mayweather. Despite that, the lawyers are asking the court to deny the sanctions Mayweather pushed for in a motion.
