Female Murderer is Set to Be 1st Woman Executed by U.S. in Almost 70 Years

According to reports, a female killer who was convicted of strangling a pregnant woman to death, then cutting the baby out of the woman’s stomach and kidnapping the baby is set to be the first woman executed by the U.S. government in almost 70 years.

52-year-old Lisa Montgomery will be executed at the FDC in Terre Haute, Indiana on December 8, 2020, according to reports. The woman will be given a lethal injection. Montgomery was convicted of killing 23-year-old Bobbie Jo Stinnett in Skidmore, Missouri in December 2004. Since then, the kidnapped child was raised by her father and is now 16-years-old.

According to reports, women in the United States have been executed in past years, but none were executed under the Federal Death Penalty, which is different from state executions. Reports noted the last woman to be executed by the U.S. government was Bonnie Heady, who died by gas chamber in 1953 in Missouri.
