Donald Trump Reportedly Requests Second Vote Recount In Georgia

This past week it was noted that a lawsuit filed in Pennsylvania by Donald Trump’s legal team related to alleged election fraud was dismissed. Trump and his legal team have reportedly requested recounts of votes in numerous states after the election found Joe Biden being named the President-elect. Now, it appears Trump is asking for a second recount in Georgia.

This past Friday, Georgia issued certified results that showed the votes were in favor of Biden. However, since the results were within less than 0.5%, Trump’s campaign can legally have a recount via machine be done. It was noted that recounts usually make up for a couple of hundred votes, so this recount may not be in Trump’s favor as he has a 12,000 vote deficit in front of him.

Trump’s campaign issued a statement to CNN and said, “Today, the Trump campaign filed a petition for a recount in Georgia. We are focused on ensuring that every aspect of Georgia State Law and the U.S. Constitution are followed so that every legal vote is counted. President Trump and his campaign continue to insist on an honest recount in Georgia, which has to include signature matching and other vital safeguards.”
