The brother of “Black Panther” actor Chadwick Boseman has revealed that he has been in remission for two years after being diagnosed with cancer in 2018.
Kevin Boseman wrote on Instagram stories, “I was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and underwent four rounds of chemotherapy”.
‘I’m in remission!!!!! You read right. I am in remission’.
Kevin, from New York who is a choreographer, dancer, singer and actor said that he revealed his health triumph ‘because while it’s been a year of profound loss and tragedy for so many of us, this is good news.’
‘Something to smile about. Something to shout about,’ he continued.
‘I hope you’re smiling and shouting with me. Cancer is something most of us have no control over’. ‘We can only control our responses to it, which includes being proactive about our healthcare both physically and mental’. He added: ‘Tomorrow is not promised and early detection saves lives. ‘Health is wealth. True wealth.’
Boseman, 48, did not share details about what type of cancer he was diagnosed with or the stage of the disease when it was discovered.
His brother, Chadwick Boseman died in August at the age of 42.
He had been privately battling colon cancer for four years and filmed a number of movies while undergoing treatments.
The late actor is survived by his wife, Simone Ledward, his parents, and two brothers, including Kevin Boseman.
