Reports show that on August 10, 2020 the U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized two tons of marijuana at the port of Buffalo, New York.
CBP officers were assigned to the Peace Bridge, selecting a commercial shipment that was manifested as seven skids of lighting to be looked at for further examination. During further inspection, CBP officers found cardboard boxes inside of the 14 pallets up for inspection, and in each of those boxes were vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana.
Reports show that the total amount of marijuana weighed out to 3,386 pounds, which is worth over $8 million on the street.
“These CBP Officers have remained vigilant and engaged as travel restrictions at the border continue. They have never let their guard down, and their discovery of another large marijuana seizure exemplifies their dedication to the CBP mission.” says Port Director Jennifer De La O.
